Andrew Jackson Allen, Sr. 72, died Monday at 7:45 a.m. at his home on Rt 1 Bloomingdale following a long illness. He was born at Wallace Jan 24, 1874 the son of James H and Mary Myers Allen. Surviving are his wife, Mary ; five sons: Freemont of Rockville; Thomas of Veedersburg; Marion and Carl of Detroit, MI; and Andrew Allen, Jr. of Tangier; four daughters, Mrs. Claude Deplanty of Rockville; Mrs. George Harrison of Veedersburg; Mrs. Clarence Thomas of Tangier and Mrs Everett Crowder of Lafyette; two sisters, Mrs Armilda Marks of Bloomingdale and Mrs. Charles Spencer of Carbon; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The body was taken to the Barnes Mortuary in Rockville and will be returned to the residence Tuesday at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the Wolf Creek Church Wendesay at 2 p.m. with burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery.

Note: Kingman Star paper is somewhat diff stating he was b. 1-24-1864 not 74 married Mary L. Bennett 1-1-1902 (thanks to Betty D for this one)
